The agricultural sector is evolving, and Scalabros is leading the way. During our latest Open Day, we opened the doors of our R&D department to showcase the potential of ScalaBox Farm, our high-tech container for intensive mushroom farming.
Incredible production in just 10 meters
The highlight of the event was our 40-foot container (12 meters total), with 10 meters fully dedicated to cultivation. The production figures from our testing phases impressed all visitors:
- Capacity: Over 1,000 substrate blocks in simultaneous fruiting.
- Yield: An estimated production of approximately 1,000 kg of finished product per harvest cycle.
- Efficiency: Extremely low water consumption (only 1 m³ every 10 days) and optimized energy management through advanced recirculation systems.
Technology at the service of the farmer
As highlighted during the event, ScalaBox Farm is more than just a shell; it is a smart ecosystem. Thanks to an advanced software control unit, users can monitor and set humidity, temperature, and CO2 levels remotely. This ensures perfect conditions for varieties such as King Oyster (Cardoncello) and Oyster mushrooms (Pleurotus), regardless of external weather conditions.
